Day Dreams

holding onto a dream
writing it all down
piecing it together
before it shall crumble
as i linger inside
my head tells a story
and before i even realize
my eyes fall quick to sleep
you enter the plot
without missing a beat
quickly taking the lead role
to my midnight daydreams
engaging in the final seconds
as the story now unfolds
you are relaxed & quiet
until i let out a scream
running towards the curtain
yelling “please never let go”
if tomorrow becomes today
and my dream a reality
then i shall see you forever
